About the director
Nicolás Ruarte began his career in the visual arts and later in theater as a set designer and director. In 2017, he participated as art director and set designer for HABITUS, a play directed by Nuria Vadell. During that period, he began an investigation into his family history as the grandson of two soldiers prosecuted for their crimes in the last civic-military dictatorship of 1976, which lead him to question the construction of identity and the military family's pact of silence. With the support of the director and the cast of HABITUS, he wrote a monologue about this story, entering as a performer for the last two plays, starting a path to the truth that would have no turning back. Through social networks, that same year, she made contact with the group Disobedient Stories and with spelling mistakes: relatives of those who were genocidal by memory, truth and justice, of which she is currently a member, several colleagues from this group have contributed documentary material and testimonial for this work. In 2018, the artistic collective La Jauría performatic theater began to function and the creation of Arismendi began through experimental rehearsals and visits to the Esma Memory Site Museum.
About La Jauría performance theater
Our theater, dance and performance company is an interdisciplinary collective focused on the body and the voice understood as a body. We take the characteristics of a pack of wolves and work as a team to achieve a common goal: the incessant search for a deep reflection on socio-political and philosophical aspects and on the very language of theater and the arts. The company is a collectively owned and self-managed, a creation a development space where each member can participate in all the projects in the different roles that are necessary and also present their own projects to be produced by the group.
